It was indeed on Casper Mountain, at Crimson Dawn.
FWIW, I've seen wolves in the Bates Creek valley, about two to three miles above the Red Creek School. That's not really far, in ranging terms, from this location. And one of the locals in that area has heard them howling at night.
I should note that I'm pretty familiar with the fauna of the state and not easily convinced where the evidence is lacking, but having actually seen them, and knowing the other fellow, they are there in the neighborhood.
