Nice example of a M18 Gun Motor Carriage, tank destroyer. These were used by the U.S. Army from 1944 during World War Two and were the product of a debate in the U.S. Army over whether tanks or tank destroyers were a better option for taking on other tanks. They were effectively a lightly armored, opened top, tank. Their disappearance after the war was due to tanks in fact being a better armored fighting vehicle.
This example is at the Army museum at Carlisle Pennsylvania, which as a collection of armor.
